MOTORBIKES HANOI-BASED BUSINESS USES
Below are the road bikes, touring motorcycles, dirt bikes, and scooters that Vietnam Offroad provides for rental in Hanoi. In general, scooters are best suited to riders who cannot or prefer not to ride manual clutch motorcycles. Scooters are also a good option when you ride in a private group with riders of similar experience and riding skills, so everyone can maintain a similar pace without holding other riders back. However, we generally recommend manual clutch motorcycles for longer trips because they are larger, more powerful, more capable on different road surfaces, and can take you almost anywhere in Vietnam.
Our shop has been providing near-new and latest-model Honda scooters in Hanoi for many years. In fact, we use only genuine Honda products, with no other brands or Chinese fakes in our main fleet. Please take these details into account when deciding which motorcycle to hire. We recommend asking about the exact bike model and year of manufacture, rather than simply choosing a rental bike based on price. In general, our Hanoi motorbike rental rates are competitive, while we focus strongly on the quality, reliability, and condition of our motorcycles.
We are not competing on price alone. More importantly, we provide professional assistance and mechanical support when you are riding in Vietnam. If you need assistance during your rental, few Hanoi motorbike rental shops can match our experience because we are mechanics ourselves. Moreover, we speak excellent English, making communication much easier when you have a problem on the road. In the long run, you save time and money because we provide direct, clear, and practical assistance instead of making you deal with unnecessary bureaucracy. You deal with us personally rather than through an employee or intermediary.
Off-road Motorbikes
Our off-road motorbikes include dual-sport enduro models such as the Honda CRF250L and CRF150L, as well as the Honda XR150L. These are among our most capable motorcycles because they allow you to ride on a wide variety of roads and surfaces. Potholes, rough mountain roads, dirt tracks, and uneven countryside roads are much easier to handle on these motorcycles than on conventional touring bikes or scooters. Our off-road motorcycles are relatively new models, with production years ranging from 2014 to 2019.
Touring Motorcycles
There are probably more touring motorcycles on Vietnamese roads than dedicated off-road bikes, and we offer 125cc and 150cc motorcycles for riders who want to explore Vietnam by motorbike. These are relatively new models, manufactured between 2014 and 2018. They are comfortable and practical for longer journeys, but they do not handle extremely rough roads as well as dedicated dirt bikes and dual-sport motorcycles. For this reason, sealed roads, highways, and well-maintained countryside roads are the best choice for these bikes.
Semi-automatic Scooters
Semi-automatic motorcycles are probably the most popular type of motorbike in Vietnam. They are affordable, economical on fuel, mechanically simple, and replacement parts are easy to find almost everywhere. You can hire 110cc Honda Wave or Honda Blade motorcycles, manufactured between 2014 and 2018 by Honda Vietnam. Many of our customers choose this type of bike for daily commuting and longer rides around Hanoi and Northern Vietnam, particularly expats who live and work in Hanoi. They are also a practical choice for riders who want something simple and economical.
Fully-automatic Scooters
Fully-automatic scooters have become increasingly popular in Vietnam as road conditions continue to improve. They are relatively affordable, fuel-efficient, easy to ride, and replacement parts are widely available. You can hire 110cc Honda Vision, 125cc Honda Lead, or 125cc Honda Air Blade models manufactured between 2014 and 2019 by Honda Vietnam. Like our semi-automatic Honda motorcycles, these scooters are frequently rented by customers for commuting in Hanoi, especially expats working and living in the city. They are particularly convenient for urban riding because no clutch or gear shifting is required to operate.
50cc Scooters
We are also proud to offer some of the smallest motorbikes available for rental in Hanoi, in both semi-automatic and fully-automatic versions. With an engine capacity of just 50cc, these small scooters are designed primarily for short-distance urban transportation. Under Vietnamese regulations applicable to this class of vehicle, riders do not need a motorcycle licence, making them an option for people who do not hold a Vietnamese motorcycle licence. However, a 50cc scooter is best suited to solo riding. Carrying a passenger adds considerable weight and workload, and these small engines are not designed for demanding long-distance journeys with two people.
Special notes for 50cc motorbikes
Due to the relatively high price of Japanese 50cc scooters, which can cost around US$ 2,000 or more, we provide Taiwanese SYM 50cc products manufactured between 2017 and 2019. They are suitable for short-distance riding and basic transportation. Please note that this is not a standard rental service from our company, but rather an additional option for customers who specifically need a small 50cc motorcycle.
