BOOKING CONDITIONS FOR YOUR VIETNAM MOTORBIKE TOURS
This business is part of Offroad Vietnam Adventure Travel, and all booking conditions are set by the parent company, Offroad Vietnam.
Reservation
- To reserve our fully guided motorbike tours or semi-guided motorbike tours, please send the first deposit at least one month before your departure date. This allows us enough time to prepare the motorcycles, guides, accommodation, and other services required for your trip.
- To reserve our self-guided tours and motorbike rentals, you should send the first deposit as soon as you decide to hire the motorcycle(s), while your preferred bike(s) are still available. Popular motorcycles can be booked well in advance, particularly during the busy travel seasons.
- The client is responsible for all bank charges and transfer fees, including sending fees, currency conversion differences, and any intermediary or correspondent bank charges that may be deducted during the transfer.
- The remaining tour balance must be paid before or on the day of departure. If you prefer not to carry a large amount of cash, you can pay the balance by bank transfer, Western Union cash transfer, or online credit card payment. Alternatively, you can pay by credit card at our shop, with an additional 3% bank service charge for Visa and MasterCard and 4% for American Express. Unfortunately, we do not accept travelers’ cheques or PayPal because of their fees and unfavorable conditions.
Cancellation Or Delay Of A Booking
Self-guided Tours or Motorbike Rentals
US$ 50 per booking applies for changes or delays to your rental dates. However, we normally do not charge a change fee when the delay is caused by unexpected major events such as illness, war, or a travel ban.
The deposit is non-refundable.
There is no refund for unused rental days once the rental period has started.
There is no refund for cancellation within 7 days before you collect the rental motorcycle(s) if you have already paid the rental in full.
Fully Guided or Semi-guided Tours Booking Conditions
US$ 100 per booking applies for changes or delays to your tour dates. However, we normally do not charge this fee when the change is caused by unexpected major events such as illness, war, or a travel ban.
The deposit is non-refundable.
There is no refund for cancellation within 14 days before the scheduled tour departure date, or during or after the tour, if the tour has previously been paid in full.
- In all cases, a US$ 100 preparation fee applies. This covers work and arrangements already made for the booking.
- The applicable local exchange rate is based on the Vietcombank exchange rate.
- If one or several participants cancel, we can offer a refund according to the applicable cancellation conditions. However, the total tour cost will be recalculated based on the number of remaining riders, so the price per person may increase. Conversely, if additional participants join the group, the total cost will be recalculated, and the price per person may become lower.
Booking Conditions For Insurance
- Our Vietnam motorbike tours do not include personal medical insurance or motorcycle tour accident insurance. Every participant is responsible for arranging suitable personal insurance before departure.
- Each participant must have individual travel insurance with medical coverage and repatriation. In addition, you should provide us with details of the nearest representative office or emergency contact for your insurance company in Vietnam, if applicable. This allows us to contact the appropriate representative in an emergency. Personal medical and travel insurance is required even if you are riding as a pillion passenger.
Some Australian riders have recommended CHI Insurance and/or Allianz, reporting that these companies offered policies that did not require a local driving licence in certain circumstances and covered larger motorcycle engine capacities. Alternatively, Lonely Planet has also offered travel insurance policies for less than US$ 100/person. Please always check the current policy conditions directly with your insurance provider before purchasing a policy, particularly regarding motorcycle engine capacity, licensing requirements, and riding in Vietnam.
On our motorbike tours, you normally ride for approximately five hours per day on average. This means that, even on a full riding day, you spend considerably more time away from the motorcycle than actually riding it. Nevertheless, you should ensure that your insurance policy covers you specifically for motorcycle riding during the tour.

- Each participant must sign a disclaimer confirming that they have arranged appropriate personal insurance. In other words, Offroad Vietnam will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for personal medical, evacuation, repatriation, or other expenses resulting from an accident, illness, or other personal emergency. Any expenses paid or incurred by Offroad Vietnam on a participant’s behalf in such circumstances must be reimbursed by the participant.
Note About Booking Conditions
- As a way of saying “thank you” to our returning customers, we normally do not require a deposit from customers who have traveled with us before. Returning customers can also receive a discount on their next Vietnam motorbike tour or rental, subject to the applicable conditions.
- We cannot guarantee specific weather conditions during your trip. Mountain weather in Northern Vietnam can change quickly, and road conditions may also be affected by heavy rain, landslides, or other local circumstances. You may request to delay your tour where possible, but there is no refund if you choose to cancel because of weather conditions.
